Twin Ports Bridge Festival Announces Celebration of Lake Superior
Duluth, MN: It’s all about the water here. It makes sense that water would be our unifying body when we live on the biggest freshwater lake in the world with the biggest inland port in the country, where two states bridge their native and developing cultures. Last year, a flood of water brought this community together like never before. This year and every year, we hope to maintain that solidarity – minus the natural disaster.
Under a theme of Love in 2013, the Twin Ports Bridge Festival is excited to announce one of the deepest community celebrations of our big water the region has ever seen. Adding a Friday night festival kick-off presentation and water ceremony on Saturday morning, the festival will bring together leaders from many different cultures in addition to the full day of events already planned.
Dr. Masaru Emoto is coming to Duluth from Japan to present the Hidden Messages in Water on July 5th in the Depot Great Hall at 6 p.m. Dr. Emoto’s message is simple, profound, and far-reaching, as he demonstrates how our thoughts and words have a direct effect on water crystal formation, our lives and the world around us. His concepts and photographs in Messages from Water Vols. I, II, and III have sold over one million copies internationally in twenty languages. Tickets for the presentation are $25, available at TwinPortsBridgeFestival.com.
Dr. Emoto will also be present for a water ceremony in Bayfront Festival Park on Saturday, July 6 at 10 a.m., along with local leaders from different cultures and special guests from all over the country. The water ceremony is included in Saturday’s festival admission along with all the other activities and entertainment, highlighted by The Kingston Trio, Cloud Cult, Mason Jennings and activities for the whole family. Tickets for Saturday are also $25 through May 31.
The United Nations proclaimed the year 2013 as the International Year of Water, which urges citizens of the world to take responsibility to learn about water. With that, comes our stewardship of Lake Superior and a focus on sustainability under the festival’s Love theme.
Organizers hope to reach a budgetary goal of selling 2,000 tickets by the end of May or gaining enough sponsor support to provide free access to community groups that would otherwise be unable to attend. There will be something for everyone from toddlers to grandparents at this year’s Twin Ports Bridge Festival. The full weekend of events includes entertainment and activities to inspire and empower all who attend. It’s about real, inherent Love, the core of our being that unites us all in moving toward environmental, economic and social sustainability.

Dr. Masaru Emoto (www.masaru-emoto.net) is an internationally renowned researcher who has gained worldwide acclaim by showing how water is deeply connected to our individual and collective consciousness. By photographing water molecules during various experiments he was able to capture images that demonstrate how our thoughts and words have a direct effect on water crystal formation, our lives and the world around us. His photographs can be seen in Messages from Water Vols. I, II, and III (over one million sold internationally in twenty languages) and in The Hidden Messages in Water (over 500,000 copies in print in eleven languages), The True Power of Water, The Secret Life of Water and the film What the Bleep Do We Know?!
Emoto is a graduate of the Yokohama Municipal University’s Department of Humanities and Sciences with a focus on international relations. In 1992, he received certification from the Open International University as a Doctor of Alternative Medicine. Subsequently, he was introduced to the concept of micro-cluster water in the United States. Thus began his quest to discover the mystery of water. Over time he realized that in its frozen crystal form, water shows us its true power. The March 2004 issue of The Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine showcased Emoto’s photo essay for special medicine based on his research. He is currently the head of I.H.M. General Research Institute Inc., the President of I.H.M. Inc., and the chief representative of I.H.M.’s HADO Fellowship. In 2003, Emoto formed his own non-profit organization, “International Water for Life,” through which he will dedicate his water research to achieving world peace.
